Blaney will drive No. 36 Disabled American Veterans/Golden Corral Chevrolet
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 24, 2011) – Tommy Baldwin Racing and Golden Corral will team up to support the military and Disabled American Veterans this weekend in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Dave Blaney will drive the No. 36 Disabled American Veterans/Golden Corral Chevrolet in the longest race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season.
Golden Corral has a longstanding relationship with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Golden Corral restaurants hold an annual Military Appreciation Monday the Monday following Veterans Day. As part of the appreciation day, Golden Corral offers a free “thank you” meal to anyone who has served in the U.S. Military. In addition, Golden Corral restaurants collect donations for the DAV throughout the month leading up to Military Appreciation Monday.
Last year, Golden Corral served more than 375,000 free “thank you” meals and collected more than $1 million for the DAV. Throughout the 10 years of the program, Golden Corral restaurants served over 2.9 million free “thank you” meals to U.S. military and raised over $5 million for the DAV. The 11th annual Military Appreciation Monday will be held on November 14, 2011.
“Honoring the Nation’s Disabled Veterans who often face extreme personal challenges as a result of their service to our country is a great tribute to the sacrifice and resiliency of these warriors,” said Ed Gleich, Vice President of Marketing and Media for Golden Corral.
“We are very excited to celebrate Memorial Day with the DAV on the car,” said Tommy Baldwin. “It means a lot to support our troops this weekend. Thanks to their efforts, we are able to race every week.”

Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the full NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule in 2011 with NASCAR veteran Dave Blaney piloting the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet.
