No. 36 TBR Chevy Will Pay Tribute to Tommy Baldwin Sr. at Talladega
Team Honors Baldwin Automotive for Over 40 Years in Business with Custom Paint Scheme
CHARLOTTE, N.C., 04/22/10 – Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) and Baldwin Automotive have joined together for the Aaron’s 499 this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, team owner Tommy Baldwin announced today.
The partnership will include a custom paint scheme for the No. 36 Chevrolet Impala driven by Johnny Sauter. The car pays homage to the paint scheme Tommy Baldwin Sr., team owner Tommy Baldwin’s father, used on his modified coupe in the early 1970’s.
“I loved hanging out at the track with my dad when I was a kid and this was one of the first paint schemes I remember him having on his car,” Baldwin said. “This was when he first started running the No. 7 car and when I think about him racing in those days, this is what I picture. I’m excited about the way the No. 36 Baldwin Automotive Chevy looks and I can’t wait to get it out on the track.”
Baldwin continued, “It was great partnering with Baldwin Automotive for the scheme and I look forward to having a strong run for them in the No. 36. I have a lot of confidence in our superspeedway program and having Johnny behind the wheel for one more week.”
Sauter will make his second and final start in the No. 36 Chevrolet this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, a track at which he has had some success in the past. Sauter has finished in the top-16 in three of this four Sprint Cup Series starts at the track.

Tommy, what a great tribute to Dad…alway loved being around him at the track…besides being a great competitor and a good guy….he had a great attitude even when things didn’t go well at the track.
I remember that paint job…a few things different on the CUP Car vs. what Dad had .
A coupe with the number 7…the colors and the outlined number is just like what you will have with the 36.
Best of Luck…Regards, Ray Miller
Do it for the Tiger. best of luck.

TB thats a nice thing you did for your dad
TB- That is a great thing you are doing for Big T, he was a legend in the modified ranks
Never met your dad but loved the way he raced at Riverhead. Good Luck in the race. Also just saw G. Bodine get your car in the Pocono race.
“With the Grace of God
and 700 HP”
Don’t foget to put that on your Dad’s Tribute car…..I’ll never foget standing and talking with you and Marty Himes at your dads wake. It will take time Tommy, but things will work out for TBM. Great “Evans” Daytona car and run by Steve. We need a 1:24 scale of Evans #36 now.
