NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 33 of 36

Track: Martinsville Speedway

Track Length: .526 miles

Date: October 30, 2011

Dave Blaney will make his second start this season at Martinsville Speedway this weekend. He will pilot his Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Tums Fast Relief 500.

TBR AT MARTINSVILLE – Since the team’s inception in 2009, TBR made five starts at Martinsville Speedway. TBR’s best start was 29th with Dave Blaney this spring. The team’s best finish came in 2010 when Mike Bliss finished 25th in the spring race.

BLANEY AT MARTINSVILLE – Blaney made 21 starts at the .526-mile short track since his debut in 2000. Blaney collected two top-10 starts and four top-20 finishes, and he led 34 laps. The Buckeye Bullet had his career-best start of sixth in the fall race in 2006 with Bill Davis Racing. He collected his career-best finish of 16th in the 2005 spring race driving for Richard Childress Racing.

LAST EVENT AT MARTINSVILLE – Tires were the word of the spring event at Martinsville Speedway, especially for the TBR No. 36 ALL SPORT Body Quencher Chevrolet team. Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to a 29th-place starting position and looked poised for a solid point finish in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500. An issue with the right-front tire caused four flat tires, and Blaney finished 30th, 14 laps down.

MEET BLANEY AT THE DANVILLE GOLDEN CORRAL – Blaney will make an appearance at the Danville, Va., Golden Corral located at 195 Holt Garrison Parkway on Friday, October 28th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Golden Corral driver will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

CHASSIS NO. 910 – Blaney will pilot the No. 910 chassis this weekend at the Virginia track. He most recently piloted the chassis at Dover International Speedway. He also drove the chassis in California, Texas, Darlington, both races at Pocono and Bristol in August.

LAST RACE RECAP: GOOD SAM CLUB 500 – Blaney drove the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet from the 41st position to a third-place finish in the Good Sam Club 500 by teaming up with Brad Keselowski for the 188-lap event at Talladega Superspeedway. The finish is TBR’s best finish since the team’s inception in 2009 and tied Blaney’s best career finish in the NSCS.

IN THE POINTS – The strong third-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway kept the TBR No. 36 team in the 32nd position in NSCS Owner Points and increased the team’s lead over 33rd and 35th. The team is 17 points ahead of the No. 13 in 33rd and locked into the top-35 by 61 points. They now trail the 31st position by 53 points. Blaney held onto the 32nd spot in the NSCS Driver Points and narrowed Casey Mears’ lead in 30th to nine points. He is now 62 points ahead of Andy Lally in 33rd.

LIGHTHOUSE MISSION – The Lighthouse Mission logo debuted on the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway and will be present for the entire 2011 season. TBR has teamed up to help the Long Island based-charity build awareness and raise funds for Lighthouse Mission. For more information on Lighthouse Mission, visit www.lighthousemission.net.

Dave Blaney Quotes:

ON THE RACING AT MARTINSVILLE – “Martinsville is a very challenging track. We had some brake trouble last time we were here. The guys at the shop have worked hard to fix that issue, so hopefully we can hang in there all day and get a decent finish. Martinsville is usually an exciting race, and it’s a good race for fans because the grandstands are right on top of the action. I like racing at Martinsville because it is really close to home. I will get the chance to watch my son Ryan race at Hickory on Saturday, so I’m really excited about that.”

Tommy Baldwin Quotes:

ON THIS WEEKEND – “Martinsville is one of my favorite places to go. It’s a great short track and a track with a lot of good history. I grew up racing there with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which makes it more exciting for me when we go there.”

About Tommy Baldwin Racing:

Tommy Baldwin Racing was formed in 2009 by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin. Baldwin utilized a slumping economy to open a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team with a stringent budget. The team competed in two full seasons with multiple drivers behind the wheel of the No. 36 Chevrolet and improved in the standings each year.

Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the full NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule in 2011 with NASCAR veteran Dave Blaney piloting the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet. Looking to improve on-track performance, TBR found success early in the 2011 season with partners Golden Corral, Big Red and Accell Construction. TBR’s driver development program, Heinke-Baldwin Racing, will also compete in various NASCAR series in 2011.
