MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 28, 2011) – Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) will team up with the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower to support charities during the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) race week. TBR owner Tommy Baldwin will participate in the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament on March 2nd. The team will also partner with the hotel by displaying a logo for the Scale the Strat Stair Climb Event on the No. 36 Accell Construction Chevrolet driven by Dave Blaney this weekend in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at LVMS.

The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament will take place Wednesday, March 2nd from 4 to 8 p.m. PST in the Theater of Stars Showroom at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower at 2000 Las Vegas Boulevard South in Las Vegas, Nev. The event will be hosted by Dale Earnhardt’s son Kerry Earnhardt. NASCAR fans can support the foundation by playing in the poker tournament with some of their favorite drivers and racing personalities, including Baldwin. A $150 entry fee into the tournament will be donated to the Dale Earnhardt Foundation, and the Grand Prize winner will receive $2,500 in cash and Dale Earnhardt souvenir merchandise. Space is limited to the first 150 people who enter the tournament. Spectator tickets will also be available for a $20 donation to the foundation. Event attendees and spectators can take advantage of competitive room rates as low as $25 per night (midweek) and $49 per night (weekend). Packages are available with entries into the tournament and also with tickets to Sunday’s NSCS race. For reservations or more information about the tournament, visit StratosphereHotel.com.

“I am thrilled to join the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament for the second year in a row,” Baldwin said. “I hope I do better than last year. Although I was out early, it was a lot of fun. We try to give back as much as possible, and anytime we can get a bunch of guys together outside of the track and have fan involvement, it’s always a good time.”

The Scale the Strat Stair Climb Event held March 12-13th at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower will have associate placement on the No. 36 Accell Construction Chevrolet. The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower will team up with the American Lung Association in Nevada and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for the event where 400 climbers will participate in a vertical road race up 1,455 steps inside the 108-floor Stratosphere Tower. The proceeds for the third annual extreme athletic event will go to prevent lung disease and promote lung health in Southern Nevada. For more information or to register, visit www.scalethestrat.com.

“It is always good to give back to the community,” explained Baldwin. “The Strat and American Lung Association have a cool deal they put on, and we’re glad to be a part of it. One of our missions is to find ways to give back to all the great communities involved in our sport. I encourage all our fans to support the event by attending or making a pledge to support the climbers.”

Blaney will hit the track on Stratosphere Pole Day Friday, March 4th to qualify the No. 36 Accell Construction Chevrolet in the Kobalt Tools 400 held Sunday, March 6th at 12 p.m. PST.
