Special Charlie Jarzombek Scheme Planned With “Laps For Noelle” Decals on 7NY
Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) announced today a new event added to the schedule for Luke Baldwin for the 2024 season. Luke will pilot the historic Tommy Baldwin Racing No. 7NY Tour-Type Modified at Riverhead Raceway on Saturday, August 17, for the running of the Baldwin/Evans/Jarzombek 77 on Wall of Fame night. The paint scheme for this event - a “Charging” Charlie Jarzombek tribute scheme - will help support a special initiative through RaceForKids.com. TBR is helping to support RaceForKids.com and their important “Laps For Noelle” initiative they have ongoing. Noelle is a six-year-old who has been diagnosed with stage four osteosarcoma and there is a mass located on her left leg and multiple masses in her lungs. She is currently undergoing chemo and will have to have her femur bone removed. The Laps For Noelle decals will be on the quarter-panels and rear-panel of the 7NY for this event. At the end of the race, TBR will auction off the doors, quarter-panels and rear panels from the car. All of the money raised will be donated to help Noelle cover medical expenses. Tommy Baldwin Racing is also selling a special tribute t-shirt, with all proceeds also going to the cause for Noelle. RaceForKids.com, created by young rising driver Darren Krantz Jr., creates a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the obstacles they face. “We are really appreciative of everything that Darren Krantz Jr. and the team at RaceForKids.com are doing to help Noelle and all children in need. Having a special Charlie Jarzombek scheme on the car and having it support Noelle’s journey – this will be a proud moment for all of short-track racing,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “We hope everyone will help get behind the cause and buy a t-shirt and contribute to the auction for the doors and quarter panels, so we can donate as much as possible.” Prior to Riverhead, the Bugsy Stevens tribute scheme will return on the 7NY for one more upcoming event. The scheme will be in place for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, August 14, with six-time Tour champion Doug Coby behind the wheel. From there, the Tommy Baldwin Racing team will change the scheme to the Charlie Jarzombek special and roll to Riverhead on the 17th with Luke Baldwin. No. 7VA Sadler-Stanley Racing, Pace-O-Matic Crew Heading North
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Rising Modified competitor Luke Baldwin will make his NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 22. Driving the Pace-O-Matic No. 7VA for Sadler-Stanley (SS) Racing, Baldwin will compete with NASCAR’s best during the only NASCAR National Series weekend of the New England racing season. Competing in the Mohegan Sun 100, Baldwin will get his first taste of drafting in a Modified at the ‘Magic Mile’ oval. He’s no stranger to racing Modifieds over the last few years - as a former 602 Modified champion at New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in 2022 and already a Tour-Type Modified winner in a short time in 2024. Baldwin is excited to take his talent north to New Hampshire to compete on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. “New Hampshire is a dream come true for sure,” Luke Baldwin said. “Growing up, it was one of the coolest races to watch, so having the privilege to run this race is an incredible feeling. The Sadler-Stanley Racing team has a ton of momentum and I know they’ll bring a stout piece to New Hampshire. It wouldn't be possible without my mom and dad, Sadler-Stanley Racing, Pace-O-Matic, and PSR Products. I can’t thank them enough. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to go have some fun.” Hermie Sadler from SS Racing agrees that Baldwin is ready for the challenge. “It was pretty evident to me early on this season that Luke has “it” for us,” Sadler said. “His ability to do things like adapt to our cars, more horsepower, new tracks, to get that extra speed for qualifying, knowing when to be aggressive and when to save… he is just mature beyond his years. Taking him to a track like New Hampshire was the logical next step for his development.” The Mohegan Sun 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is set for Saturday, June 22. Practice and qualifying for race day will take place on Friday, June 21. The event will be live on FloRacing.TV when it takes the green flag around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fans can follow Luke Baldwin across all social media accounts. Doug Coby To Pilot No. 7NY For NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Mohegan Sun 100
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Tommy Baldwin Racing announced today that the team will have a tribute paint scheme to the late Carl “Bugsy” Stevens during the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 22. The scheme, produced by Natural Designs, with the TBR No. 7NY on it, is dressed in red, white and blue in honor of the historic No. 15 that Bugsy drove to multiple wins. The team also announced today that they are selling a special t-shirt for the Bugsy scheme online now at TommyBaldwinRacing.com. Those interested may pre-order a shirt online and they will be shipped once they arrive. The proceeds collected will be donated to the Matheny School in honor of Bugsy. ORDER SHIRT “Bugsy was one of the top drivers to ever sit behind a wheel of a Modified - no doubt about it,” team owner Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “This paint scheme tribute is the first of many we will do during the 2024 season to pay tribute to some of those who had success and paved the way for Modified racing. We’re so happy to have Bugsy’s colors on the PSR Chassis No. 7NY for New Hampshire with Doug Coby behind the wheel.” Driving his first race in 1957, Bugsy was born for auto racing. He rolled into the mid-1960s teaming with legendary car owner Lenny Boehler to drive the historic No. 3 “Ole Blue” machine and they had immediate success — winning championships and countless races. Stevens won titles at Seekonk Speedway, Thompson Speedway, Stafford Motor Speedway and many other tracks in New England. Not only was Stevens a Modified standout, he also competed in the NASCAR Cup Series back in 1970 - competing in three events in that season, scoring a best finish of sixth in what is now the Coca-Cola 600. Bugsy was also a competitor on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour once the modern era started in 1985, competing in three years of competition and 45 starts with multiple top-five finishes. Tommy Baldwin Racing will return to the track on Friday, May 31, with Bryan Narducci wheeling the No. 7NY SK Modified for the team. The group will also have Jack Baldwin wheel the SK Modified on Friday, June 7, June 14 and June 21, before Coby pilots the No. 7NY in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race on June 22 at New Hampshire. Justin Bonsignore and Tommy Baldwin Racing will team together this weekend to chase over $20,000 in posted awards in the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway. The 52nd running of the Sizzler, an Open Modified event, pins some of the top Modified talent in the Northeast against each other to chase a large amount of cash at one the most historic short-tracks in the country. It will be Bonsignore’s second start in the historic No. 7NY for Tommy Baldwin Racing. He competed once in the car last year at Riverhead Raceway, scoring a top-10 finish. The three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion has never won the Spring Sizzler, posting a best finish of second in 2014. He hasn’t competed in the event since 2021. In Bonsignore’s last Stafford start, he finally posted his first win at the Connecticut half-mile - a victory that helped him capture his third NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour title. “The Spring Sizzler is a major event and I’m thrilled that Tommy Baldwin and his team asked me to drive the 7NY for it,” Bonsignore said. “It’s going to be a competitive race with a lot of strategy involved in the whole weekend. We’re looking forward to getting to Stafford and going after the trophy.” The schedule for Stafford’s Spring Sizzler weekend includes two days of racing. On Saturday, the team will compete in a qualifying heat race and a 40-lap Duel qualifying race worth $3,500 to win. On Sunday, the team will race for a $20,000 prize in the 100-lap NAPA Spring Sizzler feature. All of the racing action for the weekend will air live on FloRacing.TV. For the latest information on three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore, fans are encouraged to visit JustinBonsignore.com and follow his Athlete page on Facebook for updates. ABOUT JUSTIN BONSIGNORE Justin Bonsignore, 36, is a three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion driver for Ken Massa Motorsports. Bonsignore picked up his first championship in 2018, and followed it up with two more in 2020 and 2021. Over 17 years of competing on NASCAR’s oldest touring series, Bonsignore has amassed 41 career wins, along with over 115 top-fives. His 41 wins ranks him fourth all-time on the series win list, just one behind the late Ted Christopher for third. Bonsignore also has 30 career Tour pole awards - also fourth on the all-time list. In the last six years with crew chief Ryan Stone, Bonsignore has 29 of his 41 wins. Stafford Motor Speedway and the Arute Family are pleased to announce that long-time NASCAR team owner and crew chief Tommy Baldwin, Jr. will serve as the grand marshal of the 52nd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®, set for April 27-28. Baldwin will send the open modified field on their way for 100-laps of ground pounding action with the most famous words in motorsports, ‘Drivers start your engines.’
“This is pretty cool and very unexpected for sure,” said Baldwin. “As a crew chief, the Sizzler® is the only race that I haven’t won yet at Stafford. We’ve won at New Hampshire, won the Thompson 300 a couple of times, won the Fall Final a couple times, won at Martinsville, but the Sizzler® at Stafford is definitely a race that I have circled.” “When we were talking about the 2024 Sizzler® Grand Marshal, Tommy was one of the first names that came up,” explained Stafford Speedway CEO Mark Arute. “From the early days racing with his father to having his own Modified team today, his contributions to Modified racing is something we wanted to recognize. We’re looking forward to having Tommy send off the drivers in the 52nd running of the NAPA Spring Sizzler®.” Baldwin has a long history of success in both the modified ranks as well as the NASCAR Cup Series. Baldwin has won modified races with a wide variety of drivers such as his father Tom Baldwin, Jimmy Blewett, Michael Christopher, Jr., Doug Coby, Mike Ewanitsko, Jeff Fuller, Jon McKennedy, and Steve Park. Baldwin also has 5 career NASCAR Cup Series wins as a crew chief with 4 of those wins, including crown jewel events Daytona 500 and Southern 500, with Ward Burton, and he has a single victory with Kasey Kahne. Baldwin won the Whelen Modified Tour owner’s championship in 2022 and he has notched several Speedweeks championships at New Smyrna Speedway. “I think I’ve won 25 or 26 tour races in my career and a bunch of open races and a couple championships on top of that, so it’s been pretty cool,” said Baldwin. “We won the owners championship a couple years ago with Doug Coby, Jimmy Blewett, and Michael Christopher, Jr. driving and I’ve lost the championship to Tony Hirschman by 3 points with Steve Park. In the five years since I’ve been back racing modifieds, we finished second with Jon McKennedy and won the owner’s championship and those are the only two years we have run the Tour full-time. On the Cup side I’ve won the Daytona 500 and the Southern 500, so I’ve had a really good career and hopefully there’s a lot more still to come.” On paper, Baldwin will have a great opportunity to finally take home a Sizzler® trophy as he has teamed with Justin Bonsignore to drive the famous #7ny car. Bonsignore is a 3-time Whelen Modified Tour champion and his 41 career WMT wins place him 4th on the all-time winners list, trailing only Ted Christopher with 42, Reggie Ruggiero with 44, and Mike Stefanik with 74. Bonsignore first ran the #7ny last season in the Tour-Type 150 at Riverhead Raceway where he finished 7th. “We ran together last year at Riverhead and I’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of really good racecar drivers driving the #7ny car,” said Baldwin. “We have another one with Justin and we’ll plug him in there and see what we can do. Winning the Sizzler® would be awesome and that race is definitely on my list of accomplishments that I’d like to get.” The 52nd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® is set for Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28. Saturday, April 27th and will consist of two 40-lap NAPA Duel qualifying races for the Open Modified division. The 40-lap races will each pay $3,500 to win and will set the field for Sunday’s NAPA Spring Sizzler®. Stafford’s Late Model, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions will complete Saturday’s racing program with qualifying and feature racing. Order 52nd NAPA Spring Sizzler® Tickets Sponsor a NAPA Spring Sizzler® Lap Sunday, April 28th will play host to the $20,000 to win 52nd NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler®. Tommy Baldwin Racing announced today that Justin Bonsignore will drive the historic No. 7NY for the 52nd running of the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway on April 27-28. Bonsignore will wheel the entry for both the NAPA Duel Race on Saturday and the prestigious 100-lap, $20,000 to win event on Sunday.
The three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion has one Stafford win to his credit on the Tour, sealing the championship with a victory in 2021. He will be looking for his first Sizzler victory at the end of the month in a partnership with Tommy Baldwin Jr. and the team. “We’re happy to have Justin in the car,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “The NAPA Spring Sizzler has become such a marquee race in the Modified community with a lot of buzz and a lot of money on the line. We’ve had success at Stafford in the last few years and look forward to having Justin behind the wheel to chase the big trophy.” Bonsignore has driven the No. 7NY before - competing in an Open Modified event at Riverhead Raceway last year, scoring a top-10 finish - and is excited to have the opportunity to drive for Baldwin again. “Driving the No. 7NY in the Spring Sizzler at Stafford is an honor,” Bonsignore said. “Tommy has been such a major part of the Modified community for so many years and it’s great to have the chance to work with him and his team for this big race. There is going to be a lot of competition at the Sizzler and it should be fun to go out there and contend for the win.” The NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway includes two, 40-lap NAPA Duel qualifying races on Saturday, April 27, both worth $3,500 to win. On Sunday, the 100-lap race pays $20,000 to win and $4,000 for second - part of a purse that extends over $125,000 for a 32-car field. Luke Baldwin drove the No. 7VA to the front of the field and held off the best of the best in Matt Hirschman over the final laps to become King of the Modifieds on Sunday at South Boston Speedway. In the third race of the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic season, Baldwin drove the Sadler-Stanley Racing, Pace-O-Matic, Mohawk Northeast entry to Victory Lane for his first career Tour-Type Modified win in just his third career start. The win came with a $20,000 prize and the crown in Victory Lane for Baldwin. “I can’t believe it,” Luke Baldwin said. “The car was a rocket ship. All of the guys at Sadler-Stanley Racing and PSR Chassis did a great job. It’s a ton of pressure (over the final laps battling Hirschman) - but, I always say pressure is privilege. I’m thankful for everyone who makes this possible.” Luke passed Matt Hirschman for the lead prior to pit stops just after halfway in the King of the Modifieds 125, then after pitting, had to get the lead back. He led the final stretch of the race and held off Hirschman, who was close behind, in the stretch run to the checkered flag at the Virginia track. While Luke won with Sadler-Stanley Racing, Tommy Baldwin Racing also fielded the historic 7NY in the race, with six-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby driving. After qualifying 11th, Coby spun early. But after some adjustments mid-race, Coby charged through the field, avoided major damage in a pile-up on the backstretch late, and scored a solid third-place finish in the Dominion Energy machine. “It was pretty wild, this track is so fun and so fast,” Coby said. “We had a ton of damage front and rear, but we came home third. Really happy for Luke on his first win and thankful for Tommy and his team for having me here. This SMART Modified Tour is really fun.” Former Daytona 500 crew chief Tommy Baldwin Jr. was ecstatic about his sons first career Tour-Type Modified win. “I was watching Luke more than I was watching the 7NY out there,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “He put on a clinic with that much speed and talent. The two kids (Carson Loftin, winner of the first two SMART race and Luke, winner Sunday) are putting on a show down south. I don’t even know what to say." Tommy Baldwin Racing will be back on track with Coby at Richmond Raceway for the second race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season on Friday, March 29. Luke will return to racing with Sadler-Stanley Racing at Tri-County Speedway on Saturday, March 30. FLORENCE, S.C. – Tommy Baldwin Racing drivers Jack Baldwin and Luke Baldwin both had success Saturday night at Florence Motor Speedway.
Jacked sealed the night by capturing the victory in the opener of the Carolina Crate Modified Series, driving the No. 7NY in a final lap dash battle to the finish. Luke made his Tour-Type Modified debut in the SMART Modified Tour Peanut Patch 99 with Sadler-Stanley Racing and scored a top-five finish. Jack qualified on the pole earlier in the day, inverting to fourth and running inside the top-five for the whole 62-lap Crate Modified race, before making the move for the win in the final corner. Luke posted the fastest lap time in his first official Tour Modified practice in the PSR No. 7VA for the Sadler-Stanley Racing group. The team, owned by former NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler and Attorney and Virginia State Senator Bill Stanley, is Luke’s official home for the full SMART Modified Tour season in 2024. He also qualified the car in third spot in time trials and started second after the redraw. “Excited to win another Crate Modified race, especially being able to get to Victory Lane at Florence,” Jack Baldwin said. “Slate (Myers) had a fast car tonight. I hate that it came down to him spinning, but I was as low as I could possibly go without hitting the inside wall. Florence is a fun track. We were able to ride a bit early then close a large gap over the final 30 laps to be in position to win. I can’t thank everyone on the TBR team and PSR enough.” Both Baldwin brothers attended Florence events with the help of their respective team members and PSR Chassis members, with Tommy Baldwin Jr. at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Rick Ware Racing. “Super proud of everybody involved with this team for what we accomplished at Florence,” Luke Baldwin said. “We showed race winning speed all the way through the day, and if a few things went my way, we may have had a shot at winning it. We had a solid second-place run going until a late race restart where I made some mistakes and fell to fifth. Nothing to hang our heads about. Huge thanks to all the guys at Sadler-Stanley Racing, Bill Stanley, Hermie Sadler and PSR Products. The car was a rocket ship and they made my job easy. Also, thanks to Pace-O-Matic, The Stanley Law Group, and Mohawk Northeast for making it happen. Congrats to Carson Loftin on his first career win.” Next up for the Tommy Baldwin Racing team will be for Luke driving the No. 7VA for Sadler-Stanley Racing in the second SMART Modified Tour race of the season next Sunday, March 10 at Caraway Speedway. Jack Baldwin is currently slated to return to the seat during the summer in the SK Modifieds at Stafford Motor Speedway. MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) announced today that six-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby will pilot the No. 7NY for select Tour events in 2024. The team will begin the season at New Smyrna Speedway for the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing and the Whelen Modified Tour opener on Saturday, February 10.
The team plans to run seven of the 16 Whelen Modified Tour events. TBR will compete at Richmond Raceway on Friday, March 29, Riverhead Raceway on May 18 and New Hampshire Motor Speedway as part of NASCAR’s National Series weekend on June 22. The combination will return to the track on Wednesday, August 14 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Saturday, October 5 at North Wilkesboro Speedway and Saturday, October 26 at Martinsville Speedway. “Tommy has a deep racing history in the Modified community and when you drive for him, you know he’s going to bring fast cars to the track,” Coby said. “Having the opportunity to work with them again in 2024 to simply try to win races is something I’m really excited for.” Coby and Baldwin first paired together in 2022 and won events at Riverhead Raceway and Lee USA Speedway in their first two races together. They also picked up a victory at Langley Speedway that season – one that saw Tommy Baldwin Racing seal the Whelen Modified Tour owner’s championship with multiple different drivers. Coby drove the No. 7NY in 13 events last season with one victory and six top-five finishes. “Doug is a proven winner and champion and we’re happy he’s back with us for 2024,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “We’ve selected a great list of events to compete on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at some of their biggest races. We’re looking forward to having Doug back in the seat and it will be all about trying to get trophies.” The addition of Doug Coby to the 2024 Tommy Baldwin Racing lineup is yet another piece of what will be a busy season, including the likes of Luke Baldwin, Jack Baldwin, Bryan Narducci and Doug Coby. MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Tommy Baldwin Racing announced today that Bryan Narducci will join the team for the 2024 season, competing part-time in an SK Modified at Stafford Motor Speedway. Narducci will split the ride with TBR driver Jack Baldwin, announced on Wednesday to run 11 events during the 2024 season. Narducci will fill out the remainder of the schedule in the SK Modified. The team will have assistance from Ken Barry with SPAFCO, a New England based PSR Chassis dealer, to make weekly racing possible. The entry will be a PSR Chassis. “Definitely really excited to join Tommy and the team for this opportunity,” Narducci said. “Tommy always brings the best of the best when it comes to equipment. I feel like teaming up with him to run a SK Modified could be a lethal combination.” Narducci needs no introduction in the Stafford short-track community. He’s a two-time NASCAR Division IV National champion, both coming during his tenure at the front of the field in the SK Light Modified field. Narducci has competed at Stafford in the SK Modifieds for multiple seasons and has multiple wins. He also made multiple Tour-Type Modified starts last year for Boehler Racing. “Bryan has been around the Tommy Baldwin Racing family for a few years now and we’re happy to get him in a car,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “Bryan is a calculated driver who we know will get the most out of the car. We’re thankful to Ken Barry and his team for their assistance with our PSR Chassis ride and look forward to seeing Bryan and Jack compete for wins at Stafford in 2024.” For more information on Tommy Baldwin Racing, fans are encouraged to visit TommyBaldwinRacing.com and also follow TBR on social media for updates. |
